Dr. Christine Bakker

Dr. Christine Bakker holds a PhD in public international law from the European University Institute, Florence. She is currently a Visiting Fellow at the British Institute of International and Comparative Law in London, where she is co-editing, together with Ivano Alogna and Jean-Pierre Gauci, an edited volume on Climate Change Litigation: Global Perspectives (forthcoming), and from 1 October 2020 she will also be a Visiting Fellow at the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna in Pisa. Previously, she worked at the European Commission (DG Development); as a Research Fellow at the European University Institute in Florence (in the context of two EU-financed collaborative research projects, PRIV-WAR and TRANSWORLD); as an Adjunct Professor (professore a contratto) at LUISS University, Rome; and as a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Rome-3, and in the Master Programme on Human Rights and Conflict Management at the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna (Pisa). She also carried out research consultancies for international organizations and a national government agency. She has published several edited volumes, book chapters and articles in the areas of human rights law including children’s rights, international environmental law, and climate change.
