Stage 3 - Assessing the Italian frameworks

Stage 3 (from September 2021 to August 2022) investigates the adequacy of the Italian legal and operative frameworks applicable to all phases of the CBRN events and explores to what extent this is in line with international obligations and internationally recognized standards.

The assessment is carried out through

• desk-based research, which investigates the implementation of obligations related to the different phases of the emergency management cycle
• empirical research, which targets different actors, including policy and decision makers, incident commanders, first responders, law enforcement officials, health care professionals, representatives of the private sector, officials responsible for public communication and with the media.

Stage 3 will produce a set of working papers summarizing the outcomes of desk-based research.
